| A NASA mission which will fly through the extended coma of the active comet Wild 2, taking images and returning a sample of its cometary dust to Earth. Launch is scheduled for February 1999. Using an Earth flyby for gravity assist, Stardust will reach the comet in 2004 and the sample will be returned in 2006. |
